New Yorkers, fashion-insiders and tourists reveled in Spanish design and culture during the sixth edition of the Spanish Soho Mile presented by the Spain-U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Mile showcased Spanish fashion, footwear and jewelry brands, encouraging guests to explore the district, taste signature tapas, refresh with bubbly and, of course, shop. Festivities kicked off with the Fashion & Footwear from Spain Showcase where guests got a look at what the leading Spanish labels Magnanni, Pura Lopez, Chie Mihara, Biviel and Sendra Boots have to offer.
Tapping into the color most associated with Spain’s history, this year’s theme was ‘Go Red!’ The color was carried through to the vibrant scarves guests wore while walking the seven-stop Follow the Red fashion tour. Participants who visited the retail and showroom locations, including Camper, Custo Barcelona, Mango and Agatha Ruiz De La Prada, got a passport stamped at each spot. At the end of the night passports with at least five stamps were collected for a chance to win Custo Barcelona fashion show tickets, a red Pronovias cocktail dress, luxury hotel accommodations or a professionally styled photo shoot. —Angela Velasquez
