Fashion’s Night Out at its Finest From Moscow to London to Los Angeles to Berlin, cities from more than 17 countries will participate in Vogue Fashion’s Night Out on Sept. 8. But no one does it as well as the event’s original host city—New York. It’s the one time of the year when Manhattanites can revel in high-fashion finery while supporting the New York City AIDS Fund by purchasing FNO 2011 tees, totes and hats at many of the event’s participating retailers.
Here’s a rundown of some of the night’s most buzz-worthy festivities. —Angela Velasquez
Clockwise from top left: Patricia Field; INDASHIO NY;
Kenneth Cole; Lacoste.
Lacoste hearts NYC. To celebrate the grand opening of the new flagship store on Madison Avenue, Lacoste is treating guests to a night of the city’s finest—gourmet hot dogs, monster pretzels and specialty cocktails.
Move over macarons and bubbly, expect the pierogi to be fashionistas’ food of choice thanks to the Pierogi and Vodka Night Out bash hosted by Patricia Field at her Bowery boutique. And due to a massive crowd at last year’s FNO, this year’s party will spill over to East Village eatery, Veselka.
Strut to Famous Footwear‘s Herald Square location, where the footwear giant and America’s Next Top Model Cycle 8 Winner Jaslene Gonzalez will host a New York Fashion Week Casting Call. The prize: an opportunity to model at the INDASHIO NY runway show on Sept. 13th.
Check in on Foursquare at Kenneth Cole, or make a purchase, and receive a limited-edition Kenneth Cole Fashion’s Night Out t-shirt.

Experience la dolce vita at the Fiorentini + Baker flagship. Guests to the Mercer Street boutique can meet designer Deborah Baker, enjoy music, cocktails and food as well as have a chance to win a complimentary pair of boots.
Get schooled in shoes by Miss J Alexander at Macy’s Herald Square. The runway coach will conduct a shoe seminar complete with the night’s requisite music and refreshments.
Score free ice cream from a customized Mister Softee truck at Vera Wang on Mercer Street.
Nike kicks off the Niketown New York’s 26.2 Marathon Training Program at the 5th Avenue store with a top secret musical guest performance. The performance is followed by a group run for all levels, ending back at Niketown where participants will receive T-shirts and refreshments.
Want to talk fashion? Zappos‘ stylist Brooke Hyden will be on hand at Merc Bar to chat about the latest looks for fall. Fashion trivia, door prizes and a signature Zappos cocktail should make for a lively night.
