Vanessa Lachey joins Crocs for the opening of its New York City flagship.

Actress and TV host Vanessa Lachey was on hand to help Crocs celebrate the opening of its flagship on 34th Street in New York City last week. The day kicked off with a ribbon cutting ceremony outside the store where Lachey was joined by Crocs execs Dan Hart (chief legal and administrative officer), Dale Bathum (chief product officer) and Greg Sullivan (general manager of the Americas) and 34th Street Store Manager Mario Caruso.

Joe Namath to appear in campaign for Skechers.

Skechers has signed Hall of Famer Joe Namath to star in the Fall ’14 campaign for its Relaxed Fit footwear line. Spanning TV and print to outdoor, online and point-of-sale materials, the campaign will use the same humorous tone as ongoing spots for the line starring Joe Montana and Mark Cuban. “I’ve loved what Skechers has done with this campaign so far and I’m excited to  be joining the team,” Namath states. Michael Greenberg, president of Skechers, says Namath will be “a great asset” when it comes to spreading the word about Relaxed Fit.

New dates announced for Transit in June and August.

Transit, Los Angeles’ longest running footwear trade show, will take place at the California Market Center (CMC) on June 9-11 and Aug. 4-6, and run in conjuction with LA Fashion Market. Due to a busy show schedule during June and August, the CMC has shifted the dates to help accomodate buyers and exhibitors. Key retailers who attended the last show include Nasty Gal, Modcloth, Kitson, Piperlime and Zappos and more, while the roster of lines includes BCBG Max Azria, Betsey Johnson, Jeffrey Campbell, Modern Vice, MIA and Naughty Monkey.
