Timberland, a wholly owned subsidiary of VF Corporation, opened its new Big Apple digs in Union Square earlier this month, just in time to preview its Spring 2014 wares during FFANY.
Designed in partnership with Sargenti Architects and design firm L.O.D.A., the nearly 7,000-square-foot space echoes the brand’s rich New England heritage through reclaimed and repurposed elements such as shelves made from a Vermont snow fence and ceiling beams lifted from a New Hampshire barn. True to Timberland’s long time commitment to environmental stewardship, the showroom features eco-conscious elements such as LED lighting and ceramic tile made from 70 percent recycled content. Footwear and apparel styles are curated throughout the showroom, alongside wooden lasts once used to make footwear, imagery of the original Timberland factory in Newmarket, NH, and a timeline of the brand’s history.
“Not only are we in a great neighborhood, alongside iconic brands such as Apple and Net-A-Porter, but the space itself is beautiful and really helps bring our product collections and brand to life,” says Diane Woods, vice president and general manager of Timberland North America.
