The Highs and Lows of the 85th Annual Academy Awards

Unless you live under a rock, don't have cable (or an internet connection), or just don't like looking at beautiful people in fancy gowns and tuxes, chances are you tuned into last night's Oscars ceremony. Here's what the Footwear Plus team thought of the Seth McFarlane-hosted event.

HIGH: Adele's performance of "Skyfall" for me was a highlight of the show. I thought she nailed the song and her outfit. I loved her Christian Louboutin shimmery pumps.

LOW: I thought the lowlight was when Kristen Stewart limped on stage. If she couldn’t walk on stage, she shouldn’t have presented. It was very distracting.

HIGH: The navy and maroon suits at the Golden Globes and SAG Awards were great, but it was nice to see men return to classic black and white tuxedos for the Oscars. And stars like Bradley Cooper and Channing Tatum made the traditional look seem fresh with vests.

LOW: Can we put the blush and nude tones away already? It’s the middle of winter – no one looks good in beige!

– Angela Velasquez, Fashion Editor

HIGH: When Jennifer Lawrence fell. Not that I would wish that on anybody (except maybe Anne Hathaway) but she recovered so gracefully and even managed to crack a joke or 20.

LOW: The opening. What was that? Why the horrible “We Saw Your Boobs” song? I know I wasn’t the only viewer feeling uncomfortably confused throughout that travesty.
