Skechers Provides 1 Million Shoes Through BOBS

BOBS from Skechers, a program that launched a year ago for women's shoes and has now expanded to include kids' and men's styles, has given away a million pair of children's shoes in cooperation with various charitable partners, including Soles4Souls. For every BOBS footwear purchased, a pair has been given to a child in need throughout the world, including in the United States, Africa, Southeast Asia and Central America.

“Skechers is a global company, so we feel it’s our responsibility to assist children in need around the world as well as in our own communities,” says President of Skechers Michael Greenberg. “Thanks to Skechers’ retail partners supporting the BOBS program, we’ve achieved 1 million pairs of shoes donated within a year and BOBS shoes have reached children in need in communities across the United States as well as families living in poverty in Guatemala, Haiti, Africa and other nations.”

BOBS, which stands for Benefitting Others By Shoes, brings people together through the goal of helping children affected by life-changing events, epidemics and poverty. Skechers plans on expanding the BOBS donation program, which has helped tornado victims in Tennessee and Kentucky, earthquake victims in Indonesia and organizations throughout the world.

Brooke Burke-Charvet has been named the celebrity ambassador for the BOBS donation program and will appear in a global awareness campaign through print, television and online, utilizing her own social media resources.

Greenberg thinks Burke-Charvet is a perfect fit for the campaign. “As a mother of four, she is extremely passionate about causes that help children in need and has supported several of Skechers’ charitable endeavors,” he says. “BOBS from Skechers is our largest charitable program to date, and we’re thrilled to partner with Brooke to give back and help millions of children in need around the world.”
