The Rocky Brands outlet store located at the company’s headquarters in Nelsonville, OH, became a place where people came not to acquire, but to drop‐off shoes when Soles4Souls, an organization that collects and re‐distributes gently‐worn shoes to people in need, made the store one of its stops on its cross country RV shoe collection tour.
“The mission of Soles4Souls has always been extremely important to us,” says Mike Brooks, president and CEO of Rocky Brands. “It is a fantastic organization that continues to make a difference in the lives of people in need around the world, and I am so pleased with all of the community coming out to offer its support.”
The Soles4Souls RV Tour is led by Silvana and Allan Clark, authors and former “Trading Spouses” stars, who are serving as Brand Ambassadors for the Nashville, TN-based charity. The duo signed autographs as they collected 800 pairs of shoes from community members. Additionally, they received contents of collection bins that had been placed in venues such as Nelsonville York High School, Hocking College, Ohio University and the Rocky outlet store. A final Rocky Brands donation of a Lehigh Outfitters Truck culminated the event.
The Soles4Souls RV Tour is visiting community shoe drives at hundreds of retail locations, churches, schools, civic groups and various corporate partners. The Clarks have been posting weekly updates, including videos, photos and stories from the tour on the blog: s4srvtour.wordpress.com.
