Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari feted the launch of her capsule collection with Chinese Laundry last Wednesday at Avenue in New York. The six styles in a mostly pastel palette span embellished flats to party-perfect stilettos and will be available for spring.
FP: What inspired the collection?
KC: I just wanted to do a line that I loved and that represented my style at affordable prices.
FP: You’ve been in the public eye for 9 years. How has your style evolved since your Laguna Beach days?
KC: My style has come a long way! I used to be the jeans and flip flops girl and now I love dressing up and trying all different kinds of looks.
FP: Has Camden [her 4 month old son] inspired any plans to design kids’ shoes?
KC: Kids’ shoes are adorable so I think that would be a lot of fun, but no plans as of now.
FP: Have you thought about what shoes you will wear on your wedding day [to Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler]? Will you go the traditional route or wear something a little more memorable?
KC: I’ll probably just go the more traditional route although I’m sure they’ll be at least 5 inches!
