Yesterday, New Balance and Westin Hotels kicked off the worldwide launch of their gear-lending program to aid Soles4Souls with a 5K run in New York City. Associates also participated on runs throughout the country to help the brand reach their goal of donating 15,000 pairs of shoes to the charity, which provides footwear to adults and children in need throughout the world. The majority of donations assisted Hurricane Sandy victims. Padma Lakshmi (left), the host of television show Top Chef and award-winning author, helped to commence the event.
Westin Hotels and New Balance’s gear-lending program enables guests to borrow equipment such as insoles, apparel and sports bras for $5, as well as access to fitness content from celebrity trainer Holly Perkins.
