Beginning this month, aspiring singer/songwriters can post an original song on YouTube for a chance to become the voice of Nine West Vintage America Collection. The winner of the Vintage America Voices Contest will be featured in the December issue of Lucky magazine and have the opportunity to record and release a single through Sony/ATV Music Publishing’s in-house label, Hickory Records.
Danny Strick, co-president of Sony/ATV Music Publishing, expects the contest to resonate among the public, as everyone is looking for uplifting news, and it offers a refreshing melding of fashion, music and emerging talent.
The talent search, in conjunction with the line’s launch, was created to find a singer whose voice and song personifies the spirit and soul of the Nine West Vintage America collection. Brand ambassador and singer/songwriter Miranda Lee Richards will spearhead the contest, which starts July 14.
Each week, visitors to the site can vote for “Voice of the Week,” a weekly winner who will be awarded an item from the collection and a chance to be a finalist. After seven weeks, a host of judges including Richards, Strick, Nine West creative director Fred Allard and Lucky merchandising director Rebecca Babcock will select a winner.
