L.K. Bennett Debuts in NYC

The British are here. L.K. Bennett, a favorite of the Duchess of Cambridge who has been spotted wearing the London-based designer's nude platform pump on a number of occasions, opened a New York City flagship last weekend. Located in The Shops at Columbus Circle, the boutique is in good company and counts the likes of Coach, Cole Haan and Stuart Weitzman as neighbors. The store showcases the brand's signature leather pumps and ballet flats and Spring '12 nautical-inspired sandals and wedges with its ready-to-wear and accessory collections.

The Manhattan store opens on the heels of new L.K. Bennett stores in Chicago, Houson and Atlanta and there are plans to open two more locations by the end of this year. The expansion in the States is all part of a savvy business plan to strike when the iron is hot. Up until a year ago, L.K. Bennett was relatively unknown in the U.S., but thanks to a deluge of Kate Middleton-related admirers and media coverage showing the Duchess wearing L.K. Bennett stilettos, coats and dresses, the brand is on the radar of American fashionistas.
