Discount shoe chain DSW kicked off its FIT design competition at the newly renovated HH Brown showroom in Times Square on Wednesday. Over the next six weeks contestants will design a women’s dress shoe and boot and five finalists will have their opportunities produced by one of five vendors: Mark Fisher, Nine West, Chinese Laundry, Vince Camuto and Highline United. From there, one winner and one runner-up will receive a paid internship with the brand partner that created their sample and a limited number of the winner’s design will be available in New York City and online.
