Footwear Plus has been nominated for a medal in design by the Society of Publication Designers (SPD) for its December 2011 fashion story, “Hot Lunch.” The magazine stands in good company as other nominees in the Feature, Fashion/Beauty category include GQ and Real Simple magazines.
Footwear Plus creative directors Nancy Campbell and Trevett McCandliss are the design inspiration behind the unique twist on the Spring ’11 designer shoe review that juxtaposed couture looks against an array of classic lunch ladies—tempting food dishes included. The story was photographed by Michael Brian and styled by Fashion Editor Angela Velasquez.
The creative team has already won three SPD design medals for 9Threads, the parent company of Footwear Plus and Earnshaw’s magazines.
Winners will be announced during an awards gala at Cipriani Wall Street in New York on May 11.
