Fashion Industry 2.0 Social Media Awards for 2009

The year 2009 marked more than any other a move of marketing and PR toward social media and with Fashion Week washign over the entire city and Bryant Park just a block away from the Footwear Plus studios, it's hard to turn a corner in New York now without bumping into a social media "expert," that is; a blogger.

The year 2009 marked more than any other a move of marketing and PR toward social media and with Fashion Week washign over the entire city and Bryant Park just a block away from the Footwear Plus studios, it’s hard to turn a corner in New York now without bumping into a social media “expert,” that is; a blogger. As more and more fashion brands following the lead of other consumer products to direct their marketing budgets toward digital campaigns, it’s a good idea to take note of the cream of social fashion initiatives.

Style Coalition and ideeli, in partnership with Lucky Magazine announced the Fashion 2.0 Social Media awards this year, to recognize some of the more clever campaigns. The nominees were chosen by industry influencers, and awards were, of course, chosen by the people, with over 10,000 users weighing in.
Inside the packed reception at the W Hotel in NYC, executives from Donna Karen, Kate Spade, and Coach were on hand to accept awards. Though FourSquare was awared for innovation, being dubbed the ‘Next Big Thing’,  but only a scant few users had checked in to FourSquare from the tents at Bryant Park.
