The Drydock Footwear Group announced that it has hired Joe Salzano to serve as Senior Advisor to its North American sales organization. The move represents a reunion of sorts for Salzano and Bob Infantino, who started the Drydock Footwear Group in May 2011 as a joint venture with New Balance.

“Bob presented the ideal scenario for me to round out my career at an organization that embodies the values that have shaped my 57 years in the footwear industry,” says Salzano, who left The Clarks Companies last month after serving as its vice president of sales to further the success of the Cobb Hill, Aravon and Dunham brands within the independent channel. According to Mattioli, “Joe’s passion and impact at retail is legendary and we have no doubt that our independent accounts will welcome him with open arms.”

Salzano’s new role will focus on retail training and creating sell-thru opportunies for the young organization and its partners. He will be based out of Drydock’s office in Boston’s Seaport District.
