And the Party Goes On…

Continuing to celebrate its 20th anniversary, uber-popular luxury shoe brand Christian Louboutin hosted an interactive event yesterday with fashion blogger Leandra Medine (aka "Man Repeller") at NYC's Saks Fifth Avenue. Crowds of tourists and locals on their lunch breaks gathered (and pushed and shoved) around the window display to catch a glimpse of the brunette blogger modeling, styling and posing for photographs with a selection of shoes from Louboutin's 20th anniversary capsule collection.

Continuing to celebrate its 20th anniversary, uber-popular luxury shoe brand Christian Louboutin hosted an interactive event yesterday with fashion blogger Leandra Medine (aka “Man Repeller”) at NYC’s Saks Fifth Avenue. Crowds of tourists and locals on their lunch breaks gathered (and pushed and shoved) around the window display to catch a glimpse of the brunette blogger modeling, styling and posing for photographs with a selection of shoes from Louboutin’s 20th anniversary capsule collection.

Many onlookers couldn’t decide what they were more excited to see–the Man Repeller herself or the stunning shoes she was modeling. And the constantly growing crowds, taking up a big chunk of sidewalk space on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 49th Street, drew loads of attention from passersby. Walking past, whispers of “Is that a designer?” or “They must be launching a new shoe collection,” could be heard every few seconds, and one small girl was overheard asking, “Are we waiting for a model, mommy?”

Throughout the hour-long event, Medine tweeted to her followers, asking for advice on which shoes to pair with each look, picking such knock-out selections as a pair of knee-high cut-out black and mesh boots, black sling backs adorned with wacky eye buttons, and a lone pair of nude rhinestone flats.

Other notable shoes in the collection included a pair of snakeskin and fire red booties, satin and fishnet pumps with giant black feathers attached to the heel and toe, patent graphic oxfords, over-the-top red satin and feather stilettos, brilliant blue croc skin platform booties, and sky-high royal blye and teal rhinestone wedges–all with the signature red sole for which Louboutin is so well known and so widely coveted.
