Alexandre Birman Arrives at Bergdorf’s

Though still fresh in the game, shoe designer Alexandre Birman has made a huge splash in the luxury footwear waters since his introduction to the market in 2008. A favorite of A-listers like Kate Hudson and Blake Lively, the Brazilian designer’s collections can be found everywhere from Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus here in the U.S. to retailers like Harvey Nichols and Selfridges abroad.

A favorite of A-listers like Kate Hudson and Blake Lively, the Brazilian designer’s collections can be found everywhere from Saks Fifth Avenue and Neiman Marcus here in the U.S. to retailers like Harvey Nichols and Selfridges abroad.

And now, beginning with this spring, Birman’s chic, sexy and luxe designs will make their debut at one of Manhattan’s favorite high-end department stores: Bergdorf Goodman. To launch the collection, Birman hosted a star-filled “Meet the Designer” event on Valentine’s Day at Bergdorf’s second floor Shoe Salon, attracting big names from the fashion crowd, including stylist Brad Goreski, accessories designer Marisa Noel Brown, former Ralph Lauren designer Jennifer Creel and socialites like Fabiola Beracasa and Olivia Palermo.

The line—full of multicolored python heels, Italian-made leather pumps, cork wedges, braided gladiator sandals and ballerina flats—will join Bergdorf’s must-havedesigners like Christian Louboutin, Chanel and Brian Atwood. Birman’s spring collection, whose bright reds, corals and turquoises were inspired by the dazzling Caribbean isle of St. Barts, will retail from $400 to $2,000. —Mary Avant
