Last week, Vida Shoes International Inc., announced its contemporary women’s brand André Assous would foray into men’s footwear with a four-piece capsule collection. The inaugural launch features two suede espadrille styles, Santiago and Sterling, in two color options, both hand sewn in Spain.
“As the brand that introduced women’s espadrilles to the U.S. market, designed in Europe and crafted in the finest European factories, we wanted our debut men’s capsule to stay true to our DNA,” says Solomon Dabah, President of Vida Shoes International. “It represents our commitment to craftsmanship and heritage, with a modern twist.”
According to Dabah, the André Assous man is modern, stylish, and values comfort. “He exudes confidence and embraces an effortless, classic style,” he adds. “Preferring versatile pieces, he selects essentials that seamlessly integrate into his wardrobe, allowing him to create multiple looks with ease.”

Neutral hues, handmade touches, and an elevated-yet-relaxed aesthetic allow the pieces to exude said versatility. “The men’s silhouettes are inspired by classic espadrilles, elevated with the signature Andre Assous touch that prioritizes both style and comfort,” Dabah confirms. “Styles are handcrafted and hand-sewn in Spain, using premium suede and lightweight materials. Each stitch reflects the same dedication to quality that defines our women’s collection.”
The Santiago is crafted from suede and available in a navy and tan colorway in an easy slip-on silhouette. The Sterling is also available in navy and tan suede with a signature hand sewn espadrille sole. The lace-up oxford silhouette has a more elevated, dress shoe vibe. Styles retail for $159-$169 and are available now on the retailer’s website.
