Shoe of the Week: HUE Anna Liflat

The colorful tights and socks brand returns to its footwear roots.

In 1978, two NYC artists, Sandra Chilewich and Kathy Moskal, dyed Chines slippers in an array of colors. The slippers quickly garnered a cult following that landed the styles in the pages of Vogue and the brand in Henri Bendel’s, and HUE was born. The following year, the brand pivoted to marketing colorful tights in open packaging. In the years following, HUE became known for its legwear, socks, leggings, and sleepwear. Now, it’s returning to its footwear roots with a wellness-driven flat shoe.

The Anna Liflat has a fashion-forward pointed toe and a removable wedge insole for support. The silhouette features a propiertary knitted design with stretchy flyknit technology to hold the foot’s shape. Available in three hues — clover (pictured), black, and ultra pink — the flats are machine washable on the gentle setting.
