In an unexpected union, Irish designer Simone Rocha (known for her feminine designs with all things pearls and lace) has paired with Crocs for a capsule collection of four styles. Released yesterday, Simone Rocha x Crocs is already sold out on the designer’s website.
The collection features three silhouettes: the Classic Clog, the Siren, and the Quicktrail. The collab aims to explore the creative juxtaposition between Simone Rocha’s femininity and Crocs’ utilitarianism. Styles were shown with the designer’s SS24 collection, “The Dress Rehearsal,” inspired by wedding ceremonies.
The platform clog, classic clog, and trail runner all wear embellishments á la tiered cake adornments. Think pearls and rhinestones in lace-like patterns. The fashion community instantly embraced the release. Julia Fox, for example, commented on a Simone Rocha post of the styles with an exaggerated, “Neeeeeed.” Influencer Mandy Lee of @oldloserinbrooklyn also shared a passionate unboxing of the styles, gushing, “I’m speechless,” and, “Best package I’ve ever recieved.”
The release caused quite the frenzy for the brand, adding to its cache of designer collaborations like Balenciaga and Salehe Bembury. Simone Rocha x Crocs retail for $175–$275, but styles are already going for $300–$800 on secondhand sites. Needless to say it’s been a busy week for Crocs, which also released limited-edition toe Jibbitz, which many consumers mistook as an April Fools joke, on Monday.
The Simone Rocha x Crocs drop sold out in like 15 seconds! Glad I called the New York store last week to preorder 🤭🥹❤️
