Soles4Souls Mourns Loss of Long-term Executive

Soles4Souls is saddened to announce the death of Robert Adams-Ghee, the industry charity’s chief financial and administrative officer. He passed away on Mar. 5, following a sudden illness.
“Robert was an incredible CFO for Soles4Souls,” states Soles4Souls President and CEO Buddy Teaster. “Not only did he bring the financial discipline we needed almost eight years ago, he led just as much with his heart. The work we do really mattered to him, in a personal and visceral way. Robert was a good man who could be tough when he needed to be and vulnerable when it counted. We will miss him for a very long time.”
Adams-Ghee joined Soles4Souls in 2016. He had dedicated his entire professional career to nonprofit financial management, including 25 years at Nashville CARES. He was also very involved in important LGBTQ work in the Nashville area in the 1990s. Among other notable accomplishments, Adams-Ghee was a founding member of Planet Nashville, a nonprofit that sends volunteers to do HIV fieldwork in Africa. It was there that he was honored with the creation of the Robert Adams-Ghee Global HIV/AIDS Education Scholarship.
More recently, Adams-Ghee enjoyed teaching at the University of Phoenix, where he was named Faculty of the Year in 2015. He is survived by his husband, Jesse.
