Luxury ski and winter wear brands like Moncler (1953) and Bogner (1932) have been around for decades, but the designer fashion industry has been taking over the slopes in recent years. Dior, Krisjoy, Fendi, Khaite and Farm Rio have all rolled out their own ski lines. (LoveShackFancy also has a collection for Bogner.) This season, Balenciaga debuted a ski capsule, and Balmain rolled out a collab with luxury outwear wear brand Rossignol.

And there is definitely a market for their goods. Winter destinations, like Aspen, have always been a respite for the rich and famous, and today’s influencer crowd is no exception. In fact, Aspen Skiing Co., an upscale ski resort, is currently suing UK skiwear brand Perfect Moment, for sending influencers to capture content on the resort’s lifts and slopes. The hashtag #skiaesthetic has more than 57 million views on TikTok.
This is good news for ski boot manufacturers, but there is plenty of room for après fashion in the winter boot category, especially for the aspirational consumer who doesn’t have a house in Vail. Self-proclaimed “ski girls” are rocking Moon Boots, super chunky soles, and lots of fur. Extra points for styles that borrow from ski boots, like contrasting shells, large straps, and D-ring accents, like the Casadei Skipass Leather boot. Just check out the Rick Owens high splint sneaker boots Kendall Jenner rocked in Aspen this past December, which fans compared to Star Wars.
