“Enough is enough!” says Gary Weiner, president of Saxon Shoes in Richmond, VA. And that’s why the third generation, independent retailer took out an advertisement in the Richmond Times Dispatch in support of Ukraine, freedom and humanity this week.
“My objective was just to speak up, vent, say to others it’s ok to speak out about the atrocities,” Weiner says. “See something, say and do something” The exec adds, “Women and children being killed, men leaving their families to fight…I’m a parent, a grandparent and as a human being, enough is enough. I had to speak out. Our position is freedom!”
Weiner welcomes other shoe retailers to repurpose Saxon’s creative and swap in their logo—for placement in local papers and on social media platforms. “The the more the better,” he says.
