The Eneslow Pedorthic Institute will offer a comprehensive refresher course for pedorthists this July 15 to 18 in New York. Fellow retail pedorthic professionals will be able to enhance skills to recognize and utilize footwear, orthotics and related products to fulfill bio-mechenical, foot comfort and lifestyle needs. Taught by instructors with decades of clinical retail pedorthic experience, the course is designed to significantly increase skills in the use of footwear and related products to help relieve pain and discomfort by improving alignment, balance, posture and gait.
Course content:
- Preplanning to optimize each transaction and relationship, including prior history, product options, enhance referrer relations
- Common and not-so-common foot disorders
- Footwear and orthotic materials and designs (plastazote and others), for diabetic, neuropathic and other complex foot disorders
- Multiple footwear and related product options to satisfy lifestyle and foot comfort needs
- Care of footwear solutions
- Real-life examples (case-studies) of basic to more advanced techniques to satisfy and solve client’s footwear and footcare needs
- Pedorthic trouble-shooting and problem-solving
- Shoes and orthotics for multiple foot types and needs
- Advanced shoe fitting and shoe modification techniques from spot stretching and simple padding to using a grinding wheel and sewing machine
- Basic to advanced orthotic modification techniques for better fit and comfort
All classes will be held at Eneslow’s 470 Park Avenue South location, the world’s largest retail pedorthic facility. The fee is $1,995 per person.
