TWO TEN ANNOUNCES WIFI IMPACT AWARD HONOREES

Two Ten Footwear Foundation and Presenting Sponsor, Skechers, announced the recipients of the second annual Women In Footwear Industry (WIFI) Impact Awards. The six women will be honored during an event on Feb. 13 at the FN Platform show in Las Vegas.

“The footwear industry has such a diverse and accomplished group of women. We are proud to recognize some of them in this forum,” states Carol Baiocchi, cofounder of Two Ten WIFI. Adds Diane Sullivan, WIFI cofounder and CEO of Caleres, “Since the inception of WIFI, we have seen tremendous growth and sense of community among women in the footwear industry.”

The Advancement award recipient is Wendy Wood Yang, president of Hoka, Teva and Sanuk at Deckers Brands, for her commitment to cultivating and elevating female talent in the industry. Recipient of the Influencer award, which is in recognition of a trailblazer and risk taker, is Jodie Fox, cofounder and chief creative officer of Shoes of Prey, a worldwide customization manufacturing platform. The Leadership award goes to three senior executives at Steve Madden who have made a significant contribution to the company’s success: Amelia Newton Varela, president; Gabriella Weiser, vice president of marketing; and Karla Frieders, chief merchandising officer. The Community award, in recognition of a woman who has played a significant role in the growth of WIFI, goes to Alison Prince, vice president, DMM, full price women’s active and kids at Nordstrom.
