Yes, it still happens on occasion—a retailer opening an actual new brick-and-mortar location. In this instance, Sundance, a lifestyle retailer of apparel, footwear, jewelry, accessories, art and home décor, is opening its first store this Thursday in the Southeast—Alpharetta, GA, specifically. Since August of 2015, Sundance has opened stores in Edina, MN, Dallas, Southlake, TX, Scottsdale, AZ, Tigard, OR, San Diego, and plans to expand their retail locations over the next several years.
“The Sundance heritage is one of celebrating artistic passion and independent spirit, and we are pleased to be bringing this heritage to the Southeast with our newest store,” states CEO Matey Erdos. “There is an obvious fit for the Sundance brand through our mutual appreciation for, and recognition of, new forms of creative expression.”
Sundance will donate a portion of the proceeds from the Grand Opening Weekend to the Spruill Center for the Arts, an Atlanta-based organization committed to fostering understanding and appreciation of the visual arts. “We believe everyone deserves an opportunity for art education,” Erdos says. “Being exposed to this education empowers the great artists of the future.”
