With so many in need this holiday season, shoepeople are ramping up their charitable efforts. Therafit Shoe is doing just that with a partnership with model and blogger Kristen Taekman. The organization, Smile Train, aims to gift smiles to children in need around the world by providing training, funding and resources to empower local doctors in the developing world to provide 100-percent free cleft repair surgery and comprehensive cleft care in their own communities.

Now through Dec. 31, Therifit will donate 20 percent of sales from each pair of shoes purchased when consumers select ‘Smile Train’ as their preferred charity at checkout. Millions of children in developing countries with untreated clefts live in isolation, but more importantly, have difficulty eating, breathing and speaking. Cleft repair surgery is simple, and the transformation is immediate.

“We admire the great work that Smile Train does to help children with clefts around the world and are excited to be working them to help raise awareness and funds over the holiday season,” notes Moises Egozi, CEO of Therafit. “As a brand that creates shoes for the busy modern day woman, Kristen Taekman represents who we are as a brand and with her support of Smile Train and the campaign we hope to provide many new smiles to children in need.”
