Fur Real

Fur for all! Seasons at least. Once reserved for the winter months, fur has found its way onto the spring runways in the form of technicolor coats and cozy flats. Fur mohawks give young designer Francesco Russo’s stilettos some edge (far left) and take Dries Van Noten’s platforms from chunky to woodland-chic (at left). Simone Rocha riffs off the infamous “furkenstock” with a fur trimmed slide and Hedi Slimane gives Saint Laurent’s platform sandals an update only leopard calf hair can provide. Be it faux or fo’ real, fur feels fresh yet sophisticated on spring’s sexiest silhouettes.
