Belk and Ralph Lauren have joined forces in the fight against breast cancer. The Charlotte, NC-based retailer will exclusively sell a Ralph Lauren lace-up in stores and on belk.com to benefit the Belk Women’s Health Fund established at Foundation for the Carolinas. Available in pink, black or white, the sneaker is a new addition to the brand’s Lauren Pink capsule collection, which launched in Fall ’10 with a focus on creating awareness for breast cancer research during the month of October.
The charitable collection is offered this fall at Belk and 10 percent of the purchase price of each item sold will benefit Belk Women’s Health Fund, which funds the Belk Mobile Mammography Center (BMMC), a program that provides screening mammograms to women across the southeast with clinical services provided by Charlotte Radiology. “Through this partnership, we can create ever more awareness about the importance of early detection and screening,” says Jon Pollack, Belk’s executive vice president of marketing, sales promotion and e-commerce.
