Adidas designed custom Ryder Cup shoes for staff player Jim Furyk.

The U.S. Ryder Cup team may not have come up trumps in last weekend’s outing in Gleneagles, Scotland (Europe reigned supreme for the eight time in the past 10 meetings.) but at least one of its players had nice shoes to look at while he hung his head. Adidas Golf designed limited-edition Adricross Gripmore golf shoes for Team U.S.A.’s Jim Furyk featuring a tonal print of the American flag with blue stripes, red laces and a red outsole. “We realized this was a great opportunity for us to take our highest performing footwear models and offer unique and exciting colors that not only represent each team but truly embody what this electrifying event is all about,” says Masun Denison, director of global footwear product marketing at Adidas Golf. The company also created custom shoes for five of Team Europe’s players, including team captain Paul McGinley.
