We’ve all been there. You’re out for a stroll in your Chucks when all of a sudden the heavens open with a downpour and your once-fresh kicks (not to mention your feet) are now sopping wet. Well, no more, says Converse. The Massachusetts-based brand has just released the Converse All Star Chuck ’70 Polartec, a weather resistant sneaker that integrates Polartec weatherization technology.
So how does it work? A Polartec Power Shield Pro membrane is inserted between the outer canvas and inner tricot lining of the sneaker, combining air permeability with durable hydrostatic resistance to allow moisture management within the sneaker. This keeps feet dry and comfortable, with added protection from water and snow. (So you don’t have to frantically check your weather app before leaving your home.)
The Converse All Star Chuck ’70 Polartec comes in a bright Clematis Blue high top and clean Gargoyle Gray ox, each designed with a reverse-color tongue and one bright red eyelet as well as one turquoise d-ring eyelet in a nod to the style tradition of outdoor footwear. The collection is available at Converse’s San Francisco and Soho stores for a suggested retail price of $110.
