Alzheimer’s Association voted winner of $75,000 donation from DSW.

Footwear and accessory chain DSW has announced the winner in its Shoe Lovers Care Leave Your Mark program: the Alzheimer’s Assocation. The Chicago-based non-profit was nominated by Patti Gilligan, director of change management at DSW, and will receive $75,000 towards its mission. From June 6 through 24, Shoe Lovers everywhere voted up to once per day on shoeloverscare.com to decide which organization they felt was most deserving of the grant money. As an added bonus, the other six organizations that were nominated, including ASPCA, Stop Hunger Now and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio, were surprised with a donation of $5,000 each.
