Kamik, a division of Genfoot Inc, has joined the European Outdoor Conservation Association and will support select conservation projects around the world including environmental clean-up operations, trail operations and replanting initiatives. The Canadian brand will align with the EOCA’s mission to support valuable conservation work by raising funds from within the European outdoor sector and promoting care and respect for wild regions.
“For over two decades we have been exercising sustainable practises and working to put processes in place that move us forward as a company, while leaving a smaller footprint behind,” says Kamik CEO Richard Cook. “We believe our green initiatives are, and will continue to be, integral to our success. We are committed to manufacturing footwear that families trust to protect against outdoor elements while striving to give back to the outdoor world that we all value so much.”
Kamik’s current commitment to sustainable manufacturing includes operating three North American factories that use hydro-generated power instead of fossil fuels, high-quality low-energy lights and recycled rainwater to cool machines. Kamik also offers its a customer reycling program, reusing 100 percent of boot scraps in the production of new footwear.
