Annabel Tollman to Put Fashionable Spin on a Comfort Classic
The introduction was sweet—literally. Amid all the fanfare and fashionista glitz of Fashion’s Night Out, Rockport held court at Dylan’s Candy Bar on Manhattan’s Upper East Side to introduce its new spokesperson, acclaimed celebrity stylist Annabel Tollman.

Tollman, who has dressed the likes of Scarlett Johansson, the Olsen twins and, most recently, Kristen Wiig at the Bridesmaids premiere, says she was most drawn to Rockport because of the brand’s ability to make fashion accessible and bearable. “If you can make a comfortable high heel, I am so in,” Tollman says. “Rockport is known for technology, but now they’re venturing into the fashion arena, and I’m excited to be part of it.” Rockport’s starring styles for this spring are led by its Janae pump and bootie, which come in a jewel-toned raisin, black and gray.

Dani Tschuemperlin, Rockport women’s division EVP, Product and Brand Management, notes that while the brand has been known for its no-fail streak in the comfort arena, cushy shoes that are stylish and fashionable are not out of reach. “That’s why we’re collaborating with Annabel,” he explains. “She gives us insight into that dynamic. We thought she had a really good balance between stylistic direction and commercial viability.” As for what Tollman’s role will specifically entail, Tschuemperlin says she’ll have her hands in everything, from appearances like the one at Dylan’s to lending her eye for fashion and design, as well as access channels. “She has access to platforms that face consumers both online and in print,” he says. “She’s now part of our network of fashion intelligence.”

The style ambassador made a few Fashion Week predictions at Dylan’s, too. “Shoes will continue to be more than an afterthought,” she says, noting that colors with pop and architectural shapes will continue to reign. Watch a video of Tollman styling and see her Rockport picks here. —Meagan Walker
