Love (Luv)
noun, verb
1. A profoundly tender, passionate affection for another
Mugler If Nicola Formichetti’s latex pants, leopard print body stockings and imposing 6-inch platform wedges didn’t shock the audience, an appearance from Mugler muse, Lady Gaga, did the trick. The entertainer, who sports fantastical Mugler ensembles in her latest music video for “Born This Way,” slithered down the catwalk twice wearing sheer tops, hip-hugging skirts and white and black versions of Mugler’s towering shoes.
Dries Van Noten A smattering of design influences from ’70s glam to abstract art inspired Dries Van Noten’s fall show. The designer mixed graphic prints with opulent brocades, pops of tomato red and fur. The eclectic look was carried down to footwear. The silhouette—a just above the ankle bootie—remained constant with different fabrications, colors and heel treatments.
Rochas Rochas designer Marco Zanini’s attention to tailoring was on full display with a collection that was surprisingly simple. Unlike the frothy gowns the designer’s celebrity fan base wears on the red carpet, the ready-to-wear collection focused on knee-length skirts, sleek suits with flared pant legs and shoes with familiar and new silhouettes.
