Love (Luv)

Infusing collections with an air of athleticism and a cheeky flash of skin, mesh materials are set to lighten up footwear for the warmer months. Exhibits A and B: Velvet Angels’ racy front-lace platform pump offers a sherbet-y take, while Attilio Giusti Leombruni plays with funky color mashups with this on-trend grouping of heeled silhouettes.
True Blue
Break out the Daisy Dukes! Look for denim to extend down to the toes next year, given the assortment of wedges, boots and flat slip-ons infiltrating the streetwear market. In these two examples from Skin and Volatile, cutouts amp up the cute factor of espadrille wedges, while laces keep the look casual and fun.
Fiesta Wear
Huaraches have skirted the market in recent seasons, and for Spring ’11, brands are evolving the classic Mexican sandal, applying leather strips and woven details in eclectic ways. Frye’s vulcanized take is sure to be a go-to for the beach-bound, while Restricted’s playful clog heels will make a statement on the street.
