“Brooks For Her” Campaign Raises Nearly $27K

Brooks Sports announced that its “Brooks For Her” campaign collected nearly $27,000 in 2009. The funds will aid three charities that focus on breast cancer research, awareness and support. The campaign was introduced in conjunction with the brand’s debut range of women’s apparel called Brooks for Her. The predominately pink collection included running gear adorned with the iconic pink ribbon. For each piece purchased from March through December 2009, Brooks earmarked 6.25 percent of the suggested retail price for donation.

Brooks Sports announced that its “Brooks For Her” campaign
collected nearly $27,000 in 2009. The funds will aid three charities
that focus on breast cancer research, awareness and support.

The campaign was introduced in conjunction with the brand’s debut
range of women’s apparel called Brooks for Her. The predominately
pink collection included running gear adorned with the iconic pink
ribbon. For each piece purchased from March through December 2009,
Brooks earmarked 6.25 percent of the suggested retail price for
donation. Consumers were able to vote at www.brooksrunning.com/bfh to
decide the exact percentage of the total donation each charity would
receive.

Due to the success of the 2009 program, the company is re-launching
the campaign for 2010. The tally will start again at zero and
consumers can vote for one of these charities: the Young Survival
Coalition dedicated to make sure no young women diagnosed with breast
cancer is left to fight alone; the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research
Center; and the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation, which
creates memory-making events for patients while increasing awareness
of the disease.
