Fundraising records were broken and surely a golf ball or two went missing at the culmination of the 4th annual Off Broadway Atlanta Golf Tournament in support of the Two Ten Footwear Foundation. More than 150 shoepeople were on hand, raising more than $100,000 for Two Ten’s Scholarship Program, which provides financial assistance to students at colleges and universities across the country.
Two Ten spokesperson Ross Evans credits title sponsor Off Broadway Shoes, the Alpharetta, GA-based designer discount chain, for leading the fundraising charge. The retailer surpassed its $100K goal by $8,000 thanks to the additional support of 33 corporate sponsors (a record turnout for the event) from both in and outside of the footwear industry. Participants from more than 80 companies were on hand for an 18-hole round of golf at The River Club in nearby Suwanne, followed by a dinner reception where golf and raffle prizes were awarded.
“Without the continued support of Off Broadway and important Platinum Sponsors, including Rack Room Shoes, Skechers and The Atlanta Shoe Market, the tournament would not have met this year’s lofty goals,” Ross states.
The event organizers look forward to another successful golf outing next fall; registration will open in August 2010. For more information, please call Two Ten at (800) 346-3210 or visit them on the web at www.twoten.org.
