Asics America Unveils New Retail Concept in Mall of America

Asics America has opened the doors to its first store at Mall of America. The new store is designed to bring to life innovation and technical excellence, featuring its performance footwear, apparel and accessories.

Asics, an acronym for ‘Anima Sana In Corpore Sano’, and the store’s consumer journey reflects the harmony of this philosophy. The space balances the highly technical aspects of the brand’s products with natural features and materials, resulting in an environment that immerses customers in a world where both the mind and body are stimulated.

“Asics unique approach to the shopping experience encompasses elements of our founding principles; a sound mind in a sound body, and gives Mall of America’s busy consumers a distinctive place to experience something new,” says Biagio Mancini, senior director Asics Retail. “We are truly excited to see how consumers respond when we bring the essence of our brand and our heritage to the landscape of the Mall of America.”

The store features lush natural materials combined with a bespoke hanging plant installation to soften and freshen the environment. Additionally, the concept aims to include eco-friendly considerations such as sustainable hangers made from 50 percent recycled plastics and 50 percent grass, LED lighting and flooring, and fixtures made from natural wood. On the tech side, Asics’ Motion IDTM area uses sensors to capture consumers’ natural posture and movement when running.
