Chinese Laundry is supporting the American Heart Association with its “Wear Your Heart” campaign, which will donate 30 percent of proceeds from its new, limited-edition Heartful Heel by Chinese Laundry collection during this February. Proceeds will go to organization’s Life Is Why campaign to drive awareness and fund vital heart health research while honoring three women and their stories of resilience and survival: Toshawa Andrews, Zuleyma Santos, and Kelsey Muir.
To further amplify support throughout American Heart Month, the company has also introduced an online in-cart donation feature, enabling customers to contribute with any purchase from Chinese Laundry, Dirty Laundry, CL By Laundry, and 42 Gold. With a guaranteed minimum contribution of $40,000, these funds will directly support heart health research, education, and awareness programs tailored specifically for women.
“This campaign is about more than cute shoes—it’s about stories, strength, and standing together,” states Sarah Zurell, chief marketing officer at Chinese Laundry. “Through the Wear Your Heart campaign, we aim to empower women, amplify their voices, and champion initiatives that make a real impact. With this campaign, we’re inviting our customers to join us in making a bold fashion statement that truly matters.”
Heart disease continues to be the leading cause of death for women in the U.S., affecting more than 44 percent of women aged 20 and older. The Chinese Laundry family has personally felt the weight of this crisis, inspiring their support of the American Heart Association’s Life Is Why campaign.
Designed for style with a purpose, the Heartful Heel debuts with a heart motif, offered in romantic red and dazzling rhinestone, making it the perfect accessory for Valentine’s Day or any occasion to celebrate love and togetherness.
Toshawa Andrews defies the odds every day as a competitive figure skater, entrepreneur, and survivor of 12 heart attacks. Living with coronary microvascular disease, a condition that causes unpredictable heart spasms, she faces uncertainty with resilience and grace. A mother of three, Andrews uses her story to empower women, volunteering with American Heart Association to raise awareness and inspire others to take control of their heart health.
Zuleyma Santos’s journey began after the birth of her daughter when she was diagnosed with peripartum cardiomyopathy, a rare and life-threatening heart failure linked to pregnancy. For four years, she has undergone treatment to prepare for a heart transplant, carrying a 10-pound battery pack every day to power the device that keeps her heart pumping. As a mother of two, Santos’s story is one of unyielding strength and hope, inspiring others to face their challenges with courage.
Kelsey Muir’s scar is a powerful badge of survival. Born with a missing right ventricle, she has endured countless open-heart surgeries, survived a stroke, and now relies on a pacemaker to keep her heart beating. Despite her trials, she thrives as a wife, new mom, and a passionate member of American Heart Association, channeling her experiences into driving change and advocating for heart health for all.
