New Yorkers who “never go above 14th Street” have a new place to shop for footwear. This week Ugg Australia opened a fifth New York City location in the trendy Meatpacking District. Sharing a block with the likes of Moschino, Hugo Boss and McQueen, the 1,600 sq. ft. store’s assortment of men’s and women’s fine leather boots and accessories is poised to catch the eye of the neighrborhood’s tastemakers. The store also carries the complete line of the brand’s cold weather collection of gloves, hats, scarves and knitwear, as well as poppy styles for kids.

“Our stores give customers the opportunity to experience the full product line in a way they will not find anywhere else, and we’re excited to bring that experience to the Meatpacking District just in time for the holiday,” says Constance X. Rishwain, President of Ugg Australia. The store interior carries the global theme seen at other Ugg stores around the world, using high quality finishes from zebra wood and frosted glass to a unique champagne metal finish.

A grand opening bash at the store took place on Thursday, Novemember 29th. Ugg donated ten dollars from each purchase made during the fete to Boys & Girls Clubs affected by Superstorm Sandy. The Footwear Plus editors couldn’t help but leave with some cozy smoking slippers and knit hats.
