Asportuguesas to Support Surf School

For each pair Asportuguesas sandals sold, 1 euro will go to the surf school created by big wave professional Garrett McNamara in Nazaré, Portugal, which teaches the sport to orphan children. “I feel extremely honored to join forces with a company that’s environmentally friendly and to have the opportunity of creating a line of elegant flip-flops, in which a part of the revenue going to Nazaré’s orphans,” states McNamara.

“It is a great privilege to have Garrett McNamara as an ambassador of Asportuguesas, a brand he identifies with, that uses a 100-percent natural material (cork) that represents Portugal at its best and a footwear option that is simultaneously versatile and sophisticated,” says Pedro Abrantes, founder of Asportuguesas. “It’s also very gratifying for me to embrace a project with social responsibility that allows to provide happy moments to children in our country.”

Ecochic, a startup by Amorim Cork Ventures, makes Asportuguesas sandals and shoes. The Kyaia Group is a shareholder and the brand is distributed in North America by Bos. & Co.
