Surf’s up for Ugg and Pendleton’s limited-edition collection

Image and video hosting by TinyPicSometimes a collaboration just makes sense. Ugg Australia teaming up with Pendleton Woolen Mills for Fall/Winter 2014 is a true meeting of the minds. Both brands have roots in surf culture–Pendleton shirts helped define the surfer look in the late ’50s and Ugg sheepskin boots were originally popularized by Southern California surfers warming up post-surf in the late ’70s–and both brands have a dedicated commitment to quality. Ugg President Connie Rishwain agrees that “finding two brands with such deep ties to a shared heritage is special.”

Pendleton lends its “Coyote Butte” jacquard fabric to seven Ugg shoe styles–three men’s and four women’s–and one bag. The pattern draws inspiration from local geography and culture. A spectrum of vibrant blues, reds, yellows and purples is derived from the Jurassic Navajo Sandstone rock formations. Native American imagery is found in the geometric patterns to represent a balance in nature and the shapes of the surrounding buttes.

The pieces range in price from $120 to $175 and will be sold in Pendleton catalogs and stores, at U.S. and Asia Ugg Australia concept stores and at uggaustralia.com.
