PacSun celebrated the longest day of the year with its first ever Golden State of Mind Day.

The Summer Solstice and official first day of summer fell on a Saturday this year and PacSun took full advantage, turning the longest day of the year into its first ever Golden State of Mind Day. The Anaheim, CA-based retailer swept the nation with 20-hours of events and activites across the country. The festivities kicked off on June 21 at sunrise  in Puerto Rico with Hurley Pro surfers Nat Young and Brian Toth. A gathering at Miami Beach in Florida brought together sun seekers who were treated to GSOM-themed umbrella and towels.

The day then progressed throughout the East Coast: whitewater tubing down the Potomac River in Washington D.C.; complimentary cheesesteaks from Geno’s in Philadelphia; a free breakfast from Boston Brewin Coffee; Raekwon and Ghostface Killah at the House of Vans in New York City. As the day went on, city dwellers in Chicago and Denver found themselves picking up tickets to attend events taking place later that night: a Skrillex concert at Red Rock Amphitheatre; a Cubs game from the Sky Lounge at Wrigley Rooftop. The last few stops of the day included parasailing excursions in Marina Del Ray, CA, complimentary Hurricane drink ticket and souvenir glass from Pat O’Brien’s in New Orleans, s’mores for sunbathers on the Bonita Cove Beach in SAn Diego, and so much more. The day ended at the Volcom House on the North Shore of Oahu where live entertainment was provided by local Hawaiian brand Dread Ashanti as well as a screening of Volcom’s original feature film “True to This.”
