Greg Tunney, president and CEO of Pickerington, OH-based R.G. Barry Corporation, won out over 23 finalists to land the title of Ernst & Young’s 2009 Entrepreneur of the Year for the south central Ohio and Kentucky region.
Chosen based on his ability to inspire others, his track record of achievement, and his continued efforts to lead and grow his business, Tunney accepted the award on June 24 during ceremonies at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati. “Greg Tunney is a great leader, coach and an ideal choice for the Ernst & Young recognition,” says Gordon Zacks, chairman of R.G. Barry’s board.
“Greg understands the changing retail marketplace and is deeply committed to making R.G. Barry a world-class organization.” “It is very humbling to be selected from among such a strong group of business leaders,” Tunney notes.
“I have always believed that if you grow your people, they will grow your business, and at R.G. Barry, I am seeing my beliefs become reality.
This award recognizes our team’s performance and celebrates the significant commitment our company has made to the future through its ongoing program of organizational and personal development.” . .
