Under Armour Design Future

The global athletic brand challenged top design students from across the country.

Last week, Under Armour hosted its first-ever Design Future Show at its Baltimore world headquarters. The global performance brand searched for top design students from around the country, challenging them to bring their biggest, most creative ideas that showcase the future of design.

Students presented their final concepts to Under Armour’s Chief Design Officer, David Dombrow, VP Global Design Engine, Noreen Naroo-Pucci and Senior Design Director, Nick Cienski for a chance to win a cash prize and an Under Armour Design Fellowship, which will be held in part at the new UA Lighthouse Design and Manufacturing Leadership facility located at City Garage in Baltimore. “The Design Future Show provides students a rare opportunity to not only present their amazing concepts but truly engage with the entire UA community,” offers David Dombrow, Under Armour Chief Design Officer.

Six finalists, three focused on apparel and three focused on footwear, were mentored by select Under Armour designers. The finalists showcased their innovative design concepts and received in-depth feedback from the senior design executives in front of a crowd of Under Armour design, innovation, marketing, and creative teammates. The apparel winner was Chance Manzler of the University of Cincinnati, and the footwear winner was Kurtis Hoffman of the College for Creative Studies.
