Rack Room Shoes is delivering new kicks, just in time for back-to-school, in the form of a generous donation to Shoes That Fit, a non-profit dedicated to providing new shoes to children in need.
Rack Room Shoes has given to Shoes That Fit before, but this year’s gift exceeds previous donations. In fact, the family footwear retailer announced in September that the total raised—nearly $1.1 million, to be exact—is the largest to date. Currently, Rack Room Shoes has raised over $4 million for the non-profit with proceeds benefitting the communities the retailer serves.
How was the successful feat accomplished, you ask? Well, Rack Room Shoes looked first to its consumers—and boy, did they deliver. During the retailer’s annual Shoes That Fit fundraiser, customers contributed $655,000. Rack Room Shoes’ corporate donation then pushed the pot to over $1 million.
As Jan Mauldin, Rack Room Shoes senior director, corporate marketing, puts it, “We are astounded by the great generosity of our customers and humbled by their willingness to join us in our mission to better the communities we serve.”
