Everything You Buy is Rubbish makes shoes from plastic collected on British beaches.

The U.S. produces about 57 billion pounds of plastic every year, and only about 3 percent of it is recycled. What happens to the rest? Well, it will probably still be around long after your own body has decomposed. To help spread the message about overconsumption and how much environmental damage it does, a trio of Brits has created a pair of shoes made entirely from plastic rubbish collection on U.K. beaches.

Well, it will probably still be around long after your own body has decomposed. To help spread the message about overconsumption and how much environmental damage it does, a trio of Brits has created a pair of shoes made entirely from plastic rubbish collection on U.K. beaches. Created by Charles Duffy, William Gubbins and Billy Turvey, Everything You Buy is Rubbish relates specifically to the millions of pieces of plastic that end up in the ocean every day and wreak havoc on the environment as  a result. The collective also made a cool video to go along with the project. Click here to check it out.
